Linguit is a privately held software company specializing in advanced language and speech technology. It was founded in 2005 in the city of Edinburgh, Scotland.

NER & GeoTagging

Linguit text mining solution delivers target expressions identification capability including people, organization and place names. Additionally, it is designed to disambiguate locations to geographic coordinates for subsequent uses in GIS software, such as car navigation systems and social maps, and for intelligence analyses.

Wiki Answers

Linguit corporate wiki-search software delivers the benefit of knowledge management to the corporate wiki-user. The engine uses NLP technology to analyse queries and is capable of targeting specific passages (paragraphs, figures, tables) of a page and thus seeks out knowledge from an otherwise "data grave", as opposed to a standard wiki search.

Data annotation

We sell annotated data for gold standard evaluations and benchmarking. In particular, we offer a version of REUTERS RCV1 Research Corpus annotated with geographical coordinates for geo-tagging evaluation (Leidner, 2006).
